The Focus Women Sacco was registered in October 2010. The Sacco was started by a group of four Directors and later expanded to twelve Directors. The society’s core business is to mobilize savings from the members out of which credit is approved at affordable interest rates.
Since inception, the Sacco has seen tremendous growth in membership, capital base and loan issuance.
With the witnessed growth the future remains bright and now there is a basis to implement new Sacco products.
Focus Women Sacco is designed to serve both business and professional women possesssing the desire to expand their business and/or invest in assets that will generate economic power. It also promotes a culture of saving by giving the members an opportunity to accumulate shares and deposits out of which loans are availed at suitable interest rates.
Focus Women Sacco is managed by an elected Management Committee, a Credit Committee and a Supervisory Committee.
All members enjoy equal voting rights – one member one vote – irrespective of their shareholding and equitable distribution of surplus from the Sacco’s annual business activities.
Each year the Sacco proposes to hold two meetings for members.
Annual General Meeting[AGM]:
The Sacco holds one Annual General Meeting [AGM] for members. The annual meeting acts as an education meeting where members are enlightened about various aspects of financial empowerment, Sacco Products and audited accounts. The Sacco may call the members for any other meetings on notice. These meetings normally provide an opportunity for all members to discuss the growth of the Sacco. They also elect management teams and the supervisory committee and provide inputs to the Sacco management.
Education Meeting
This meeting will be introduced with the purpose of sensitising members on the developments in the Sacco Products.
